Following the unexpected Dolores O’Riordan episode, Mike, Pat, and Stick re-assemble for the first full-cast show of 2018. After a long run of guests, the trio returns, and the conversation is all over the place…the future of death in rock and roll, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Judas Priest, Rod Stewart’s 1978 album Blondes Have More Fun, a discussion of Stewart’s 1970s recorded output, and a hilarious analysis of how duos like Seals and Crofts, Simon and Garfunkel, and Hall and Oats get their names.
While troubleshooting some technical issues, the tragic news of Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan came in. What was supposed to be a test of our recording software turned into a little more than expected. Pat and Stick are not with me in this last minute episode, as it was totally unplanned. (Mike) CORRECTIONS: While speaking off the cuff, I incorrectly listed the year of the Cranberries breakup as 2009…2003 is the correct year…the reunion was 2009. I also mentioned the recording date as Monday, January 16, 2018…it was actually Monday, January 15.
